We are excited to announce the launch of the Dylan Review Emerging Scholar Fellowship. Starting in 2026, we will award this fellowship annually to one emerging scholar in Bob Dylan studies. This scholar may be working on an article, thesis, dissertation, or related project in the field. Our aim is to help nurture the next generation of Bob Dylan scholars and to ensure the field’s viability in the future. The Emerging Scholar Fellowship includes a $500 stipend for any combination of travel expenses, books, subscriptions, conference fees, or living expenses to pursue research.

To apply, please send as a single Word doc or PDF:

1. A cover letter detailing your current project and your future ambitions 
2. A specific plan for how you’ll spend the $500 stipend 
3. A resume or c.v.
4. A writing sample, 3,000 – 6,000 words, of your Dylan scholarship
5. Contact information for at least one reference who can address your scholarship
